Childcare Sufficiency Assessment
We have a responsibility to make sure that there is sufficient childcare in Denbighshire to meet the needs of working parents.
‘Sufficient childcare’ means childcare that meets the needs of parents in the area who need childcare so that they can:
- take up or remain in work
- undertake education or training which will help them to get work
To fulfil our responsibility, we carry out a detailed assessment of the supply and demand for childcare in Denbighshire in March every year. The assessment includes research and consultation with parents, carers, young people, employers and providers.
The most recent assessment took place in 2022.
