Public register for taxi drivers and vehicles (including private hire)

We are required to maintain a public register giving various details of the current hackney carriage/private hire driver and vehicle licences that we've issued.

Details of all licensed vehicles are also contained in the registers.

Section 42 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 sets out the requirements of the public register concerning hackney carriage drivers and vehicles.

Section 51(3) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 specifies the requirements of the public register requirements for private hire drivers.
