You should apply to register a street name or property name/number if you are;
- building a new property
- undertaking conversions of a building which will result in the creation of new properties
- changing the name of your property
You should apply once planning permission has been approved and work on site on commencing. Utility companies will not install services without an official postal address and postcode.

How long will it take?
If your request relates to a new address on an existing street we will process your application within 5 working days from receipt of a valid SNN application.
If your request involves the naming of new streets due to the consultation process with local councillors, under normal circumstances we will allocate a postal address within 30 working days from receipt of a valid application.
When we create new property numbers and road names we will issue official documents to confirm the new addresses.
