Name the Recycling Fleet: School competition

We are pleased to announce the winners of the competition for schools to name the Council's new recycling lorries.

Over 100 applications were submitted by school pupils last month. The Council's waste crews - who will drive the new vehicles - were responsible for the initial judging, with the final decision taken by the Leader of the Council, the Chief Executive and the Lead Member for Environment and Transport.

These new vehicles have been funded by the Welsh Government and are part of the commitment to improve recycling levels in Wales. The vehicles will be more cost effective and environmentally friendly, leading to cost savings in the long term.

The winning names will be printed on the new lorries soon, and the photos will be shown here shortly.
