Transfer a premises licence
To transfer a premises licence, you must apply to formally amend the licence and gain written consent to transfer the licence from the existing licence holder to yourself.
If there is more than one existing licence holder you must gain consent from every licence holder.
You can not transfer a premises licence to another premises, you can only transfer a premises licence from one licence holder to another.

Representation period
Once the application has been accepted by the licensing authority, the Police and the Home Office have 14 days in which to object to the transfer. If no objection is received, your application will be granted and you'll receive the amended Premises Licence in the post in due course.
If an objection is received, we will contact you.
You also have the option to request your application to take immediate effect which would allow any proposed changes taking effect during the representation period.

It costs £23 to transfer a premises licence.

Gaming machines
If there are gaming machines at the premises that you intend to keep, you must notify us when you apply to transfer the premises licence.
How to notify us depends on how many gaming machines there are:
- for one or two gaming machines, you can complete a notification of 2 or less form
- for three or more gaming machines, you'll need to apply to transfer the licensed premises gaming machine permit
