To celebrate Social Work Week, which runs from March 17th to the 21st, Denbighshire’s Social Work Team held a celebratory event at County Hall in Ruthin.
At the event, Denbighshire’s Social Work Team sat down for an informal chat and a cake and a coffee with employees of the wider social care workforce to discuss all things social work.
There was also a chance for a question and answer with local social workers as well as an opportunity to discuss what is happening locally and nationally.
This year’s theme for Social Work Week is ‘Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing’.
A number of other events are also being held as part of the celebrations this week, including a Fun Quiz & lunch which are held as part of Denbighshire’s Social Work Week celebrations.
Councillor Elen Heaton, Lead Member for Health and Social Care said:
“This event was a great opportunity to highlight and celebrate the vital role social workers play in our communities, supporting vulnerable people across the county.
It’s great to see a whole week dedicated to recognising their hard work and commitment. The event was a chance to learn more about our committed, close-knit team and celebrate their achievements.”
