Denbighshire Council is working with the Post Office to issue ‘Pay Out’ vouchers for the Winter Fuel Scheme to over 2,350 residents that are eligible but have not yet applied.

The Council, who have been working with Welsh Government on delivering the project, welcomes this additional opportunity for its residents to claim the £200 payment. The vouchers will be valid from one month after the date of issue and residents are advised to take their letter and claim the money at their local Post Office.

The Council and Post Office have recently worked together on a voucher scheme for the £150 Cost of Living Payments scheme where nearly 4,000 vouchers were issued on 15th November 2022 and nearly 3,100 vouchers were cashed.

However, there are still 900 residents who have received a voucher but are still to claim this payment, which must be done by 15th December 2022.

Councillor Gwyneth Ellis, lead member for finance, performance and strategic assets said “During the cost of living crisis we’re facing it’s vital that residents claim what they are entitled to, so we’re pleased that they have this additional support at local level in partnership with Welsh Government.

“We implore those who qualify to take advantage of this scheme to ease their concerns, particularly during the festive period”.
