Delays in the processing of planning applications and enquiries
We are currently experiencing severe delays in the processing and determination of planning applications and formal enquiries due to a reduced number of staff in both the Support Team and Officer Team.
Officers have extremely high caseloads but are working hard to process all planning applications and formal enquiries as quickly as possible.
If you require an update, in the first instance we would ask you to check the website where all information and consultation responses are published.
Officers will be in touch with applicants/agents should they require further information or if they have any update to provide. If you have appointed an agent to act on your behalf, please contact your agent for an update in the first instance as Officers will only update the agent as specified on the application form.
Requests seeking extensions of time and a Green Infrastructure Statement (if not already submitted) are being made in the acknowledgement letter correspondence. We would be very grateful if you could respond in writing to these requests, to planning@denbighshire.gov.uk quoting the reference number and address of the application site.
Green Infrastructure Statements are required for determination of all planning applications. If one hasn’t been submitted, the Officer will contact you later in the process to request this and this will add further delays to the process.
As Officers prioritise the paid for planning applications and formal enquiries, contact by telephone and email will be limited and delayed. Officers are unable to respond to informal enquiries or provide advice on the need for planning permission and would direct customers to the Planning pages on the Council's website for further advice and information. Alternatively you may wish to contact a planning agent or architect for advice.
We apologise for any inconvenience that the delays will cause but would like to remind customers that proceeding with any development without the necessary consents in place is done so at their own risk:
