Project background

This new project aims to provide improvements to Green Lane Car Park, encourage visitor usage. The project is intended to enhance visitor dwell time and spend whilst also providing improved facilities for local residents and businesses.

To achieve this the project will look to provide:

  • EV charging points
  • Refurbishment of the toilet block.
  • New bus lay-by and associated road markings.
  • Seating / Picnic Benches
  • Signage

A public information event was held in 2023 to share information.

Construction will take place in two phases, phase 1 will commence in June / July and phase 2 starting in October. Whilst there will be some disruption to the highway and accessibility on the pavement in some areas this will be short term and will not be present during the school holiday period.

  • EV charging points with capability to charge 10 cars and associated road markings
  • Provision of additional bus stop and associated road markings
  • Refurbishment of existing toilet block including a dementia friendly cubicle, introduction of contactless payment method for toilet block.

  • Picnic Benches
Current position

Current position

This project has delivered the below:

  • Installed 10 EV charging points.
  • Undertaken works to improve the bus interchange.
  • Refurbished the toilet block, including a dementia-friendly accessible toilet.
  • Installed improved signage.
